As organic matter, hardwood is inherently unique, with no two pieces bearing the same combination of characteristics. The intricacies of the grain, depth of color, and texture of the surface not only vary from species to species, but within the same type as well, and even the same log.
A tree’s life experiences, along with the soil into which its roots grow, are physically and permanently reflected in the wood’s strength and appearance, transforming would-be flaws and blemishes into symbols of honor and beauty. Knots, wormholes, and splits perpetually emerge throughout the wood’s existence to form a whole greater than their sum, manifesting as metaphors for all forms of life.
Quality Guarantee
Each piece of Created™ Hardwood is hand-selected, air- and kiln-dried, sealed and finished to ensure the highest level of quality and durability. However, a piece of wood never truly “dies”, and variations in temperature and humidity can cause wood to expand and contract. Small splits are not unusual, and sometimes seal themselves with climate cycles. Resin fills are also susceptible to minor cracking and separation as a result of the wood’s movement. These are normal occurrences associated with solid wood furniture, as are dings and dents, and should be considered added character rather than damage.
Created™ Hardwood guarantees its products according to the following terms:
- Terms of Use: This product is offered to you conditioned upon your acceptance without modification of the terms, conditions, and notices contained herein. This product is intended to be used as a table only. The product is not intended to be used as a chair, step ladder, or stood upon, due to the risk of injury. The customer assumes the risk of any injury when the product is not being used for its intended purpose.
- Shelves: If shelf sagging occurs, it could be attributed to improper installation. Always ensure the cleat is adhered to a wood stud or utilizes a heavy-duty drywall anchor. Periodic tightening may be necessary. The weight capacity for proper installation on standard shelf sizes is 10lbs per 18” (excluding the shelf’s own weight). Any damage, breakage, or cracking resulting from excessive weight or misuse will void the warranty.
- Limitation of Liability: In no event shall Created Hardwood, LLC or any of its owners, members, employees or agents be liable for any direct, indirect, punitive, or incidental damages, whether arising under breach of contract, tort, or strict liability, caused by the product to property or life, arising out of or connected with the use or misuses of the product. This product is manufactured for a specific purpose and any misuse beyond the purpose of this product shall be a waiver of liability.
Manufacturer Warranty: This product is warrantied against any manufacturing defect for a period of (60) months from the date of purchase. Crosscut slabs and stump side tables are not warrantied.
- Outdoor pieces are not warrantied and it is anticipated that refinishing may become necessary over time. No specific timeframe is provided for items displaying signs of wear, including board separation. It is advisable to use a protective covering when the outdoor pieces are not in use.
- Exclusions from the quality guarantee include electronics, stone, appliances, and lighting, as these items are covered by the warranties provided by their respective third-party manufacturers. Reimbursements for labor costs are contingent upon adherence to the terms specified by the manufacturer.
Defects considered for replacement are as follows:
- Splits 1” or greater in WIDTH (not length).
- Discoloration or changes to finish not resulting from a foreign substance or abnormal wear and tear.
Normal Occurrences: The natural characteristics of wood, including mineral streaks and variations in color and grain, are not considered for product replacement under the limited warranty. Small cracks, splits, and wood movement are also not grounds for warranty claim. Our wood is most stable with an interior humidity level of 30% to 50%. Make sure your space's HVAC is set to maintain these target humidity levels. Color variations and color softening are a natural occurrence due to species, age, character, and exposure to UV light and sunlight and are not indicative of a defect.
Replacement materials may result in a color variance in comparison to the originally installed products, which is not indicative of a defect.
Extreme temperatures and/or humidity levels, or changes in temperature and/or humidity levels in homes may cause minor shrinking, swelling, and/or warping of wood which is natural and not covered under warranty.
Recommended Care: Finished pieces are sealed and finished with our Poly acrylic to add protection and sheen. Finishes are able to handle daily use, however should be protected from moisture and heat. You can maintain the care of your product with a mild soap and water. Do not use harsh cleaning chemicals including silicone or ammonia. Try to avoid direct sunlight and heat to cut down on cracking and fading. Use a felt back material prior to setting any hot dish to help preserve the finish.
Other Statements: Any oral or other written statements which are inconsistent with this document made by Created Hardwood, LLC, owners, members employees, agents or representatives, SHALL NOT constitute warranties, and SHALL NOT be relied upon by the buyer, and are not part of the contract for sale. Choice of Law: All matters disputed under this agreement shall be governed by the State of Ohio.
Our Finish
Created™ Hardwood uses durable Italian made coatings from ICA Group. The acrylic coatings used offer superior resistance to marring and scratching when compared against other less durable finishes and will keep your finished piece looking better, longer.
